As the selections are very strict and paper based, we request you to prepare your CV in the right format and detail all the relevant experience under the Professional experience table as much as possible. There is no problem if your CV is long, the most important is to prepare so that it describes clearly your experiences relevant to the mission. (Your CV has to sell you!)

 

Restrictions: In case consultants are short listed, they must be able to provide documentary evidence for educational and professional items in their CVs (copies of diplomas, copies of employers’ reference letters, etc.). Documents those are not available in English have to be accompanied by a faithful translation. This is mandatory requirement for Europe Aid tenders.

Experts having been involved in local development projects financed by the European Commission in Jordan in the past 10 years will not be considered.

 

To ease the assessment of CVs and avoid delays to obtain required information, the total number of working days / month performed for each position must be specified. Referees from the institutions that have been supported must be provided: for the past 5 years for the expert category

Requirements

– a postgraduate degree or an undergraduate degree with additional an additional 2 years of relevant

professional experience

– A minimum of 12 years’ experience in local development, local governance or decentralisation in low or middle income countries (http://data.worldbank.org/about/country-classifications/country-andlending- groups); of which 5 in the area of local economic development.

– led at least 1 ex-post evaluation of a technical cooperation project in the past 10 years (a copy of the reports cover page and table of content must be provided).

– An excellent command of English, i.e. minimum level C2 as per Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. (http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/resources/european-languagelevels- cefr).

− Relevant experience in the area of local economic development;

− Number ex-post evaluation of technical cooperation projects conducted.

 

EC rules applicable to any EC assignment

  • The working days are Monday to Friday, unless otherwise specified in the mandate
  • The per diem covers all expenses of the expert (local transport, hotel, meals, Telecom, etc.) and it is paid only if the expert must spend the night there.
  • International travel: the EC only reimburse economy class tickets
